Summary

setup-probitas v2 for Probitas 2:

  • No Deno. The action resolves the version (latest via the /releases/latest redirect), downloads the platform's archive from the Probitas GitHub Release, verifies it against SHA256SUMS and adds it to the PATH. macOS / Linux go through the install.sh of the release being installed (pinned to its tag, so action and release cannot drift); Windows uses PowerShell.
  • cache now caches the DuckDB native binding Probitas downloads on first use.
  • Asking for 1.x fails with a pointer to setup-probitas@v1.
  • Test matrix adds Linux arm64 and a job checking that 1.x is refused; the example scenario imports @probitas-test/probitas.

Breaking: deno-version / cache-hash inputs and deno-version / cache-hit outputs are removed; Probitas 1.x needs @v1, which keeps working unchanged.

Why

Probitas 2 moves from Deno to Bun and ships as a single binary per platform on each GitHub Release (probitas-test/probitas#114).

Why draft

The test job installs the latest Probitas release, which is still 1.0.0, so CI cannot pass until Probitas 2.0.0 is released. Merge and tag v2.0.0 after that release; @v1 users are unaffected either way.

Test Plan

  • CI green after Probitas 2.0.0 is released (Ubuntu x64/arm64, macOS, Windows; 1.x refused)

Probitas 2 is a single binary attached to each GitHub Release, so the
action no longer sets up Deno: it downloads the platform's archive,
verifies it against the release's SHA256SUMS (through that release's
install.sh on macOS and Linux, so the action and the release cannot
drift) and adds it to the PATH. The `cache` input now caches the DuckDB
native binding Probitas downloads on first use.

Probitas 1.x stays with setup-probitas@v1. Asking v2 for a 1.x version
fails with a pointer to @v1 instead of a confusing install error.

BREAKING CHANGE: the `deno-version` and `cache-hash` inputs and the
`deno-version` and `cache-hit` outputs are removed, and Probitas 1.x is
no longer installable with this major version.
