Intuit Plugins

Important

Generative AI can make mistakes. Review all code, configuration, and API calls generated by your AI coding agent before you use them. See the Intuit Privacy Statement for how Intuit handles your data.

Intuit Plugin Marketplace

The Intuit Plugin Marketplace is Intuit's official catalog of agent plugins. They give AI agents the skills and tools to work with Intuit products and services. Plugins currently support Claude Code and Codex.

Instead of pasting long Intuit product guidance into prompts, these plugins package it as reusable, versioned capabilities that your agent invokes when relevant. This makes agent behavior more predictable, keeps context small, and helps teams get consistent results. A single agent plugin can include:

  • Agent skills: Structured workflows and guardrails that guide the agent through multi-step tasks such as setting up an app, completing OAuth, or diagnosing API failures.
  • MCP servers: Connections to Intuit services that give the agent live, authenticated access to data and APIs at runtime.
  • References: Workflow documentation that skills read progressively, so detailed guidance loads only when it's needed.

Best practices

  • Review generated code before you run or ship it, especially OAuth handling, secret storage, and API calls.
  • Use plugins to speed up your work, not to replace your own judgment.
  • Keep plugins updated to get the latest Intuit guidance.
  • Request only the OAuth scopes your app needs.
  • Never paste client secrets or tokens into chat. Put them in your local .env or secret store yourself.
  • Use sandbox companies for development and testing.

Codex

Codex discovers repo-local marketplaces through .agents/plugins/marketplace.json and per-plugin manifests under plugins/*/.codex-plugin/plugin.json. This repo includes both, following the Codex guidance in Build plugins.

To install a plugin in Codex:

  1. Clone this repository.
  2. Open the repository in Codex so it can discover .agents/plugins/marketplace.json.
  3. Restart Codex.
  4. Open the plugin directory, choose the Intuit Official Marketplace, and install the plugin you want.

Requirements

  • Claude Code with plugin support, or Codex
  • An Intuit account
  • A browser on the same machine for the OAuth sign-in
