FreeScout is a self-hosted help desk and shared mailbox, an open-source alternative to Zendesk and Help Scout. It turns support email into conversations that agents assign, tag and answer together, with saved replies, internal notes, collision detection and customer history. Modules add features like a knowledge base, satisfaction ratings and workflows.

    The FreeScout script is ready for testing. Run it in the Proxmox VE shell (or on an Incus host) to create a container:

    bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/community-scripts/DevScripts/main/ct/freescout.sh)"

    Default credentials:
    Username: admin@example.com

    Sign in with the admin email and the generated password saved in ~/freescout.creds inside the container.
    FreeScout only answers on the host in APP_URL (the container IP). For a domain or reverse proxy, change APP_URL in /opt/freescout/.env, then click Clear Cache under Manage > System > Tools.
    Mail servers on private IPs are rejected until listed in APP_REMOTE_HOST_WHITE_LIST in /opt/freescout/.env (clear the cache afterwards).

    Note: This is not in the official repo yet—it's just a dev version! After merging into ProxmoxVE, it will need to be recreated.

    Hi,
    the script currently downloads the os image to the host local storage without asking for storage options. In my case, this makes it unusable, because I do not have lots of free storage on my local and instead have another connected storage where I install all my apps to

    That are your storage.cfg Not the Script

  4. StefanArts commented on Nov 4, 2026

    @StefanArts

    Okay thanks, I'll check. For most of the other scripts I was asked to which storage the new container should be installed

    Our core check which storages are in storage.cfg, If its only one, He choose the only valid (If 1 exist) or ask you in Default Setup, If you have more then 1 valid entry
