IOS Live Activity with action buttons

Describe the feature

With the live activities available in IOS and Android, I would ask for the next step, where we could define buttons/actions similarly to Actionable Notifications.

Use cases

We could run HA actions directly for active live activity, both on the lock screen and the one available form the dynamic island.

+1, with a concrete use case: an EV charging timer.

I show a Live Activity while my car charges at a public station: a progress bar and a countdown to the moment the operator starts charging a blocking (idle) fee. What I'm missing are two buttons right on it: "Mute alarm" (the countdown ends in a critical alert) and "Stop timer" (I've already unplugged). Today the only option is url, which opens the app instead of running an action.

Reusing the existing actionable-notification actions (action, title, icon: sfsymbols:…, and the mobile_app_notification_action event) for Live Activities would cover this completely, and Apple supports it since iOS 17 via App Intents in widgets / Live Activities.

For now I work around it with a notification that embeds a camera stream (which I render as a live bar + countdown) plus action buttons, but that only works while the notification is expanded.

+1, with another concrete use case: a baby sleep timer.

When a sleep timer starts in Baby Buddy, Home Assistant starts a Live Activity on both parents' phones with chronometer: true and when set to the timer's start, so it counts up on the device. It works great. The missing piece is ending it. When the baby wakes, I want a "Woke up" button on the Lock Screen that stops and logs the timer. Today the only interaction is the tap url, so it takes two taps (open the activity, then press a dashboard button), usually one-handed in the middle of the night.

Reusing the actionable-notification actions list as proposed here (action / title / icon, firing mobile_app_notification_action) would fit perfectly: one or two buttons on the Lock Screen and in the expanded Dynamic Island. The app's widgets already use Button(intent:), so the building block is already in the codebase.

I would love this feature, too. For example to Play/Pause the vacuum.
