Adding support for .tar.gz files

Hi! I'm not sure if this is planned or out of scope, but it would be nice to have the ability to install apps distributed as .tar.gz archives.

Would that fit the project?

There is no benefit of distributing AppImages in archives

Sorry for the confusion! I don't mean putting AppImages inside archives.

I mean apps that are only distributed as .tar.gz with no AppImage, like the JetBrains IDEs, Antigravity or Firefox.

Right now people extract those by hand, move the folder somewhere, and create a desktop entry manually. It would be great if AppManager could handle that.

I see. Archive can contain anything, so no, even if you wanted to you can't do it.
